Potoo BirdI was inspired by a meme; it appeared in the form of the Potoo bird. Using a scratchboard, the sharp contrast between the black layer and the white scratched areas helped me to visualize and highlight the bird's comically large (and extremely confused-looking) eyes. I always want my art to make others feel emotion. I think that while my Potoo bird looks very silly, maybe its meme-ability will make someone feel joy. |
