On one little ship I lie on mine back un look at the starsThis art piece was inspired by the poem 'Stars' By Robert Roe. The Morse code on the piece translates to: “On one little ship I lie on mine back un look at the stars”. For this piece, I used image transfer, collage, and modelling paste as my three mixed media techniques and processes. For the planets, moon, and shooting star I used image transfer. This was a very effective method, especially combined with the orange ink I painted on top of the images to create dimension and to reflect the sunset. I used the collage method for the boat and lighthouse. I also painted some highlights on the boat and lighthouse to reflect the sunset in the background. I used the modelling paste to add motion to the ocean as well as dimension to the clouds. All these methods combined beautifully to create a final piece that reflected the poem. |
