At the top of the hill
This artwork is an oil pastel piece set at sunset. It reminds me of last winter when my family booked a three day skiing trip up to Castle Mountain with some friends and family. I remember it being super cold and how when we reached the very top of the mountain we were atop of the clouds. I recall how seeing the sun above the clouds made the world look so small. After skiing down the steepest part of the run we all stopped to take a breath. It was so silent, you could only hear the cold wind. I remember being so amazed by the view and all the different shadows that the sun cast onto the side of the hill. That's what the purples and corals that the sky reflects onto the snow in the artwork reminds me of. I hope this artwork will make you feel as calm and appreciative of life as it does to me.
