Temporary Relief

This piece represents how distractions provide temporary relief from the anxiety of unfinished work. As a procrastinator, I often put off projects and duties, leaving things for the last minute. The more I postpone my responsibilities, the more daunting simple tasks feel.
I depicted myself, surrounded by a radial barrier of blank canvases, staring into a laptop. While the device on my lap delays the consequences of avoidance, it provides no escape from the looming walls; a reminder of my unproductivity. To emphasize the sensation of being overwhelmed, I used a range of discordant and obtrusive colors.
