Dara Humniski

Educational Art Technician

Dara works primarily in drawing, but also printmaking, photography and sculpture.

Using the natural world as a starting point, she experiments with scale, media and craft processes to assemble fictional worlds with open-ended narratives that express things about the human condition.

A seated studio portrait of a woman wearing a light beige long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans, photographed against a plain white background. She faces the camera with a calm expression, hands resting together, and her dark hair worn loose over one shoulder.

Dara holds a Bachelor of Design majoring in furniture design and drawing from the University of Alberta, is a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter and a founding member of Loyal Loot design collective.

She has completed residencies at the Banff Center, Plug-In ICA and SNAP Gallery.
