  • 4-H Alberta Scholarships  – Open to all Alberta rural youth and designed to help rural farm youth who must leave home to pursue a post-secondary education. Must be enrolled as a first-year student and be no older than 25 years of age. Deadline: June 30th 2024 
  • * Africa Centre Scholarships  -The Ujima Fellowship is a leadership development program that aims to address structural racism and inequity by creating opportunities for diverse representation within advisory or decision-making entities. Deadline: May 1st 2024  
  • Alberta Student Aid Awards(external link) - The Government of Alberta offers various scholarships and awards to recognize outstanding student accomplishments, contribution and achievements. Deadlines Vary 
  • *Basis (flybasis.com) - FlyBasis flight bookings is offering a $1000 scholarship for university students who can write an essay on "The Future of Travel and Technology" (500 words) and share their love for travelling. Deadline: June 30th 2024    
  • Edmonton Community Foundation(external link) - Scholarships are intended to promote the advancement of education and to provide an incentive and means for anyone to continue learning. For Edmonton/ (and some) Alberta residents that are currently students. Deadlines Vary 
  • *ERA Scholarship 2024 - From the Electronic Recycling Association. Multiple prizes of up to $10’000 and a new MacBook Pro for Canadian students that can come up with a marketing plan and collect e-waste in their area. Deadline: September 1st, 2024 
  • *FurnacePrices.ca Voice of the Future Scholarship - FurnacePrices.ca - We’re offering a $1,000 scholarship to students who are ready to stand up and speak out on the issues that matter most to them. Whether it’s climate change, mental health, educational equity, or any other challenge facing your generation, we want to hear from you. Deadline: July 10th  2024   
  • *Hellamaid Scholarship | $500 for Canadian Students | Apply Now a $500 award given every semester designed to support Canadian students in their academic pursuits. To apply for the scholarship, write an essay on the topic: “How a Clean and Organized Home Improves Focus and Mental Health for Students.” Deadline: November 29th  2024   
  • *Innovation in Education Scholarship (external link) -  We at LA Tutors are passionate about sparking the creative genius in students and would love to commend those outstanding students who have a made a difference in the lives of others in some innovative or technological fashion. In order to achieve this, we have established a $500 scholarship drawn monthly for students who meet certain criteria. Deadline: 20th Day of each month 
  • *ServiceScape Scholarship(external link) -  Scholarships which will be in the amount of $1,000.00 USD to be paid toward the educational certification/degree program of your choice. Deadline: November 29th 2024 
  • *Stampede Auto Used Cars Scholarship - The Used Cars Dealers Scholarship is here to help. We are awarding a $750 CAD/- scholarship to one deserving student each year. All you have to do is write your view on one of the listed prompts regarding used cars and their benefits. Deadline: October 31st, 2024 
  • *Terras Earth Award (external link) - Annual award of $1,000 recognizing the outstanding contributions of Canadian women in the community. This includes local community development, women’s empowerment, poverty relief, humanitarian/refugee aid or environmental sustainability. Deadline: July 1st 2024 
  • Terry Fox Humanitarian Award Program (external link)- Terry Fox Humanitarian Award recipients are selected for their dedication to the humanitarian ideals of Terry Fox, their courage in overcoming obstacles, and definite marks of distinction and persistence in the pursuit of excellence in academic, athletic, and civic life. Deadline: December 1st 2024 
  • The RBC Future Launch Scholarship -The RBC Future Launch Scholarship could help you take your next step towards a better job. This Scholarship is for anyone from 15 to 29 who wants to learn something new… Could $1,500 make you more future ready? Accepting applications all year. Submissions will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. 
  • *Universities Canada Scholarship Partners - Universities Canada manages government-funded international partnership programs and more than 120 scholarship programs on behalf of private sector companies. Deadlines Vary 
  • *Voice Talent Online(external link) - Our annual Scholarship Competitions invite academically outstanding students to compete for one of our three monetary prizes. Deadline: April 30th 2025 

 

      Awards for Students with a Disability: 

  • Canada Post Award – For students enrolled in a post-secondary institution, diagnosed with a permanent disability, exhibit strong self-advocacy and volunteerism. Deadline: May 31st 2024 
  • Connor Clark & Lunn Financial Group – For students with disabilities in higher education who display community leadership and show interest in a business-oriented career. Deadline:  May 31st  2024                                                                  
  • *Clinton Shard Memorial Scholarship - For students of any age, living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis who are enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary educational institute for the upcoming fall 2023 semester. Deadline: July 2024 
  • *Easter Seals Alberta's Workplace Readiness Mentorship Scholarship $2,000 scholarship to a student in Alberta with disabilities who are entering or currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution while matching them with a volunteer mentor who will provide guidance and assist them in preparing for the workplace. Deadline: June 30th, 2024 
  • *JRG Emerging Artist Grant – For Canadian artists who identify as having a disability, in any artistic discipline is eligible. JRG assists Deaf, Disabled and MAD artists to create beautiful art, pursue their goals and share their talent with the world. Different awards to choose from. Applications Opening Soon 
  • *Kevin Collins Abilities Scholarship(external link) - The Kevin Collins Abilities Scholarship is presented to a post-secondary student with a disability. Eligible applicants must have at minimum one full semester left in their post-secondary education. Deadline: March 15th every year 
  • LOAF bursary application (e-district.org) - The Bursary is intended for sight-impaired students entering their second semester. Consideration also given to those entering their first semester/ One time only award. Deadline: February 28th every year 
  • Lupus Canada Scholarships  - For students who have been diagnosed with lupus, seeking an undergraduate degree and taking a minimum of 50% course load. Deadline: May 31st 2024  
  • NEADS National Student Awards - For students diagnosed with a permanent disability, exhibit strong self-advocacy, volunteerism and/or employment or involvement in on-campus activities.  Deadline: May 31st, 2024 
  • *Phyllis Davidson Scholarship - Easter Seals Alberta - Phyllis Davidson Easter Seals Scholarship offers post-secondary academic scholarships to students living with physical disabilities. Each year one $20,000 scholarship will be awarded to a successful applicant at $5,000 per academic year for four years. Deadline: June 30th, 2024 
  • *Scholarships and Awards | CNIB - Multiple scholarships available for students in Canada who are visually impaired, from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Deadlines Vary

  • Study abroad program choices | Alberta.ca - There are many ways Alberta students can get a post-secondary education or internship experience in another country. Some programs are offered through partnerships between the Government of Alberta and organizations in other countries. These programs offer professional work and study experiences in exciting places around the world. Awards for the Arts: 

  • Academic Invest(external link) - Shows students what scholarships they can pursue based on their degree. Some scholarships are specific to arts degrees. Deadlines Vary 
  • *Alberta Society of Artists - Every year, the Alberta Society of Artists awards one graduate student and two undergraduate students with scholarships pursuing a fine arts education at a post-secondary intuition within Alberta. Deadline: January 15th 2025 
  • Applied Arts Magazine(external link) -  Offers the Applied Arts Awards. They are the only competition in Canada that recognizes the creative work of professionals across the visual communications sector, from image makers to advertising executives to designers. Deadlines Vary 
  • *Call for Entries | Sehsüchte (sehsuechte.de) - From now on, the Sehsüchte International Student Film Festival is once again looking for your films. A film festival competition for young international filmmakers. Takes place internationally. Cash prizes for the winners. Deadline:  January 14th 2024 
  • *James Lee Foundation(external link) - Minimum $5000. Available to all fields of creativity related to the advertising community are encouraged to apply. Must submit portfolio work with application. Deadline: September 15th 2025 
  • *Soroptimist International  - The Soroptimist Awards are presented annually to deserving recipients: women (or anyone who identifies as female) who make a difference in the lives of other women or those who are working through adversity to achieve their educational goals. Deadlines Vary 

 

Awards for Indigenous students: 

  • Alberta Student Aid Awards(external link) - The Government of Alberta offers various scholarships and awards to recognize outstanding student accomplishments, contribution and achievements. These awards are specific to Indigenous students. Deadlines Vary 
  • *Canada Post award for Indigenous Students (external link) - For specifically Canadian students, who are a member of a First Nation, Metis or Inuit community and have been out of school for 1 year or more and are returning. Applications open May 1st, Deadline: August 31st  
  • *Freehorse Family Wellness Society (FFWS)(external link) - A non-profit organization founded by a few committed and dedicated leaders of Alberta based First Nations. FFWS is currently offering a post-secondary funding program on behalf of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC). Post Secondary Funding Program assists students from various Alberta First Nations whose status is the result of Bill C-31. Alberta residents from Nunavut and the Northwest Territories with Indian or Inuit Status are also eligible under our Post Secondary Funding Program. Deadlines Vary 
  • Indigenous Scholarships | Alberta Blue Cross® - Alberta Blue Cross provides three scholarships for Aboriginal students and six scholarships for mature students annually. Applications open September 1st. Applications close January 31st 
  • *Scholarship for Indigenous Youth | RBC Future Launch - The RBC Future Launch Scholarship for Indigenous Youth will award 20 scholarships annually valued up to $10,000 each per year (up to 4 years) to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students across Canada demonstrating strong academic performance and community involvement. Applications open in the Fall 2024, Deadline: February 7th 2024 
  • Scholarship — Girls Write the Future - As an organization proudly based in Canada and run by Canadians, we want to make sure that we’re contributing to gender equality in education both at home and abroad. This scholarship will cover up to $5000 of tuition fees per year for students beginning their studies at any accredited university in Canada. Deadline unknown (opening in the spring 2025) 
  • Native Womens Association of Canada(external link)  - There is a significant gap between the enrolment of Indigenous and non-Indigenous women at Canadian universities. There are many historical social, economic and political reasons for this, including barriers to funding. To do our part in contributing to reconciliation, we’ve created a scholarship for Indigenous women to pursue an undergraduate education at any university across Canada. This scholarship will cover up to $5000 of tuition fees per year for students beginning their studies at any accredited university in Canada. Deadline unknown (opening in the spring 2025) 
  • *TD Indigenous Student Scholarships (external link) - Together with AFOA Canada, a not-for-profit led by Indigenous Peoples, we’ve worked to build a scholarship for Indigenous Peoples. Through it, 25 scholarships are available to be awarded annually, worth up to $60K over 4 years. Deadline unknown
