SALVATIONThis piece is called "Salvation," painted during a very vulnerable and unstable point in my life. The hand reaching for the sky grasps for help, while the blank expressions tells the viewer that there is one. The religious undertones are inspired by old religious paintings as of Jesus, as where I was staying at the time had many churches in the area where that I would visit. This painting was done with acrylics and a 9"x11" canvas. The idea of a god is a hopeful one that I reached for in my time of need; I painted my yearning. The foxes, meanwhile represent the taunt of another day, waking up. |
