Exhibition, Events, and Fundraiser for ACAD Scholarships
What is It?
A signature fundraising event to support new scholarships at ACAD and elevate awareness and interest in the visual arts and the valuable contribution of artists and designers. It is about the integration of art, design and fashion. Every element of the evening will be produced to present a highly charged, visually stimulating evening of entertainment.
What is planned for the evening?
The event will commence with a wine reception and gallery exhibit opening to view the collection of ACAD alumni artworks and meet the artists in attendance. Then, guests will be seated to watch a fashion/art production that will feature segments of fashion interpreting the featured alumni artwork through their presentation. As the
evening proceeds, a highlight will be the "random unveiling" of the Wall of Art that will be entirely presold prior to the event. A limited 50 opportunities will be available to purchase a ticket ($2000) to acquire one of the 50 artworks from acclaimed alumni, faculty, and new emerging artists from ACAD. The individual value of the artworks will range from $ l000 and up. A Christian Eckart piece valued at $15,000 has already been secured and we are still acquiring valuable new pieces. An avant-garde world class fashion presentation, produced by Kelly Streit of mode models, with Alberta's best independent retailers interpreting the select alumni artworks being showcased. The grand finale to the evening will be a London style DJ dance party.
What are the fundraising goals and what will the net proceeds be used for?
To generate $ I 00,000 net revenue - all proceeds will go toward new student scholarships and the promotion of visual literacy. To "sell out" the event to 600 guests.
