CanAsian Arts On the Move

Learn more

CanAsian Arts On the Move is a national showcase and celebration of Asian artists from different disciplines, through a live simulcast event, streaming from Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton.

This event aims to celebrate and showcase the work of artists from the Asian diaspora in Canada and is held during Asian Heritage Month. There are five organizations and cities involved who will each present an artist at the event, showing a pre-recorded video segment of the artist’s work, followed by a live Q&A with the artist afterwards.

For the Calgary viewing party, we are excited to offer a free in-person event with our featured artist Jose Macasinag (BFA ‘23, Media Arts), who will have a projection installation at the historic Chinese National League building, in the heart of Calgary’s Chinatown, with food and drinks from Chinatown provided.

This project is also in partnership with CanAsian Arts Network (Edmonton), Festival Accès Asie (Montreal), Asian Heritage Month Society of Manitoba (Winnipeg), and InnerGenerational (Toronto).
