KuyaIn exploring abstraction methods and multimedia, I created this piece with the subject that I felt would most reflect the uniqueness of the materialistic portion of the piece, my older brother, my Kuya. I used a stippling technique with a red gel pen and ballpoint pen to create the foreground and yellow oil pastels to create the background. The choice to only use two colours, specifically red and yellow, was to capture emotions of passion and energy as they contrast each other. With a 10 year age gap, me and my older brother have always had a special connection and throughout my life, I have always looked up to him. The pose he is doing within the piece sums up his big personality that I have always admired and the bright yellow spiky background helps to emphasize this personality. “Kuya” highlights the true essence of my older brother through both stippling and multimedia. |
