My second piece revolves around the effects of teenage depression. I used the contrast between the bright subject and dark background in order to show the difference between what the subject feels and how others view the subject. The subject, having a playful pose and seemingly happy is contradicted by the individuals dead eyes and poor hygiene which is often seen in depression.
