English Requirements for Bachelor's Degree

To be accepted into AUArts’ bachelor's degree programs, you’ll need to demonstrate proficiency in English by meeting one of the following from either 3 categories listed below:
English Language Proficiency Test Exemptions

High School - Successful completion of at least two years of full-time instruction in a high school where English is the language of instruction, including a minimum of 60% final grade in a grade 12 English course or equivalent.

Post Secondary - Successful completion of one year of full-time instruction at a post-secondary institution where English is the language of instruction, including a minimum passing grade of 60% in a Grade 12 English course or 60% in the highest level of English course completed.
English Language Pathway Programs

Oxford International Digital Institute (OIDI) (online) - Successful completion of the Pathways English Online (PEO) program.

Anne's Language House (ALH) (in-person) - Successful completion of General English Level 5.
English Language Proficiency Test

Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) - A score of 70 or higher on the Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) assessment, or a score of 70 or higher on the computer edition (CAEL CE).

Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) - A score of 176 or higher on Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency.

Duolingo English Test (DET) - An overall score of 120 or higher.

International English Language Test (IELTS) - An overall score of 6.5 or higher.

Pearson Test of English (PTE) - A score of 56 or higher on the PTE Academic or Online Test.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - An overall score of 83 or higher with a minimum score of 20 in each of the four testing sections, or 220 on the computer-based test (CBT). TOEFL institution code is 0595.
