Another Life

Through meditative deconstruction, pulling apart canvas thread by thread, Elise Findlay reflects on the way small, everyday battles can lead to burnout.

In her exhibition, Another Life, Elise Findlay (BFA ’23, Drawing) takes this transformed canvas and makes something new with its own strength and purpose. The resulting objects, replicas of woodworking tools and equipment, are surprising and soft, making a powerful statement with their fragile metamorphosis.
