Lovers in Winter | Don Kottmann

"Lovers in Winter" is an exhibition of work by Professor Emeritus Don Kottmann depicting his love of big skies and wide open spaces.

"Lovers in Winter" is an exhibition by AUArts Professor Emeritus Don Kottmann showcasing his love of vast open spaces spotted in the world around us while road tripping in his car. The big sky and big space, the Rockies, and Lake Louise both overwhelm and inspire the artist.

Kottmann adds layers from the natural environment, but from an almost cosmic perspective. Absent the formulaic linearity many of us have become accustomed to, we’re afforded a view of everything, all at once. Which can be considered nothing in particular, but is obviously something.

This exhibition is on at the Joseph Nease Gallery in Duluth, Minnesota.
