Renaissance angels no longer hover above altars but descend into graffiti-covered alleyways and concrete cityscapes.

By interweaving classical iconography with contemporary urban imagery, Carl White (Dip '92, VCD) constructs visual palimpsests that disrupt traditional art historical hierarchies. Gilded halos meet spray-painted tags, and sacred forms are recast through the lens of the everyday.

The result is a series of striking, hybrid compositions that explore belief, beauty, and contradiction in equal measure. To the Wonder invites viewers into a liminal space where the divine and the profane coexist—and where wonder emerges from their collision.
