Alberta University of the Arts has secured the opportunity to display AUArts student artwork at the Calgary International Airport throughout 2023, arranged in a partnership with YYC Airport Authority and Pattison Outdoor, who manage the digital space for the Airport Authority.
YYC Airport Authority is donating a variety of high-profile digital screens throughout the domestic and international terminals to showcase AUArts student artwork. Each digital display includes an image of the artwork, including the student’s name and the piece's title.
All screens displaying artwork will be in digital format, displayed on a random, rotating basis throughout the airport throughout December 2023. Digital spaces generously donated include the Gateway TV International & Domestic, International Ticket Hall, and Flight Info International Ticket Hall. This is an opportunity to showcase student work to a large audience from Calgary and the international community.
All interested AUArts students are invited to participate and submit up to 4 pieces to be considered. Subject matter must be suitable for all audiences and ages.
Selection starts immediately in January 2023 and will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until December 2023. Students will be notified if their work is selected and will be required to sign a release form authorizing their work to be digitally displayed at the Airport.
Some images submitted may need to be cropped to fit the digital format and below are the required file specs:
Submission Format: High-resolution JPG. Landscape (horizontal) layout preferred. (Portrait layout may require significant cropping to fit the digital screens.)
