National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Alberta University of the Arts Lodgepole Center celebrates the "Our Stories, Our Voices, Our Ways" exhibition honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

AUArts students, alumni, staff and faculty are invited to join the Lodgepole Center at Fort Calgary on Wednesday, September 28, 5 - 9 pm for "Imagine and Co-Create our Futures", an evening celebrating the exhibition. Attendees can expect spoken word, storytelling, performances, and an Electric Pow Wow (an urban Indigenous experience showcasing Pow Wow music in a contemporary way).

On September 30, 2022, Alberta University of the Arts will be closed in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. Tragically, since the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation last year, more unmarked graves have been found. With this non-operational day, we encourage our community to take the time to participate and learn in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation, and reflect and honour this important day.
