Transfer Credit Assessment & Prior Learning Assessment
AUArts recognizes that you may be coming to us with prior learning from another school. As full participants in the Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer, we support student mobility and want to ensure you get the recognition you deserve.
Transfer Credit Assessment
If you have completed courses at another university or college, you can apply for Transfer Credit. Transfer students are subject to the AUArts Residency Policy, which requires you to complete at least 50% of your degree program at AUArts. A maximum of 60 transfer credits may be applied toward your degree
AUArts does not conduct transfer credit assessments for students who have not yet been admitted. You can search for established transfer equivalencies on the Transfer Alberta website or review course descriptions in the AUArts Academic Calendar to determine if your prior coursework aligns with our curriculum.

Only admitted students are eligible to request PLAR. Methods of assessment may include (but are not limited to) written exams, oral exams or interviews, performance assessments or portfolio assessments. Prior Learning assessments must have departmental approval and are subject to a fee.
