English requirements for master's degrees
To be considered for AUArts’ MFA program, you must demonstrate an adequate level of proficiency in English.
English Language Proficiency Requirements (MFA)
- Successful completion of an undergraduate degree from a school where English is the primary language of instruction or;
- Completion of an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of at least 93
- Completion of an internet-based test (IBT), with a minimum score of 22 in each of the four testing sections
- Completion score of 580 on the paper-based test (PBT)
- Completion score of 237 on the computer-based test (CBT)
- Overall score of 7.0 or higher on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- Completion score of 185 on the Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency exams
- Achievement of a score of 130 or higher on the Duolingo English Test (DET)
- Score of 64 or higher on the Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic or Online Test
- Successful completion of ALH General English Level 5 with our English language pathway partner Anne's Language House (ALH).
