Banff Centre Field Trip

Join the IKG staff on a field trip to the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity! We will travel to Banff on a coach bus and have a boxed lunch on the way. While on the Banff Centre campus we will tour the studio facilities, attend an artist talk by LA-based artist Cassils, and see the opening reception of their newest exhibition, Movement.

3:30PM - Banff Residency facility tours
5:00PM - Cassils exhibition opening and reception at the Walter Phillips Gallery
6:00PM - Bus departs for AUArts
8:00PM - Estimated return to AUArts

Cassils is best known for their social engaged performance practice, particularly their use of the body to examine and discuss LGBTQI+ violence and perseverance. Cassils is a transgender artist born in Toronto, raised in Montreal, and now based in Los Angeles.
