AUArts Gallery Crawl Draws 1,700+ Visitors for a Night of Art

On Friday, March 6, 1,745 visitors filled all five floors of Alberta University of the Arts for the latest AUArts Gallery Crawl, a campus-wide celebration of student creativity. The event offers visitors a chance to see the progression of student work across the University.

Guests explored 88 exhibitions, installations and interventions by students working across disciplines. Art experiences ranged from epic stories contained in miniature ceramics, to puppet installations and immersive fibre takeovers, to interactive digital media and open invitations for visitors to add their drawings to the walls. Rock bands, choirs and concert ensembles presented by the Your Turn Performace Fiesta added a lively soundtrack to the evening as visitors moved through studios, galleries and gathering spaces.

The overall atmosphere of community and play highlighted what makes Gallery Crawl special: it breaks down barriers between disciplines and years-of-study to encourage collaboration and community building.
