Luke Lindoe Ceramics Scholarship
The Luke Lindoe Ceramics Scholarship is named in honour of the late Luke Orton Lindoe (1913-2000), in recognition of his achievements as an artist and his contributions to the Ceramics program at AUArts.
Lindoe studied at AUArts (then PITA) from 1935-1940, was an instructor at AUArts from 1947-1957 and was instrumental in the establishment of AUArts’s Ceramics department, a program in what is now known as the School of Craft + Emerging Media.
The Luke Lindoe Ceramics Scholarship will be an annual award, provided to a Ceramics student to support an Artist-In-Residence program of summer study at Medalta. During the residency, the selected student will have the opportunity for self-directed research, while interacting with artists from across the world to develop their practice. This is an invaluable opportunity for an emerging artist and one that AUArts is proud to support.
