Kelly Isaak (she/her) is a contemporary figurative artist deeply immersed in the art of drawing. She earned her BFA from Alberta University of the Arts (formerly Alberta College of Art and Design) and a B.Ed from the University of Calgary. Isaak’s work has been exhibited in Canada and in the US. She actively contributes to the Fem Assembly, an intersectional feminist art collective in Calgary, and is a studio member at NVRLND. studios.
Isaak’s current body of work is a collection of emotional, atmospheric drawings that embrace the Female Gaze. Her drawings skillfully blend finely detailed figures with expressive gestures and subtle shapes, showcasing a refined sensitivity to her chosen materials.
As an educator, Isaak aims to build confidence in the fundamentals of drawing to help her students find success in their artworks. She has been helping students build their drawing skills for the last 14 years here in Calgary.

Working with a live model, use a variety of media, and gain studio experience in gesture and analytical figure drawing, modeling of form and space through light and shadow, perspective, proportion, and different drawing techniques and methods.
